I'm a UNC fan who lives in Greenville and I think you should leave the man alone. I think it's great that he wants to interact with the ECU students and patronage local businesses that cater to his students. That will help him get an insight to help the students. Also he's a grown man and as long as he wasn't drunk acting stupid or hitting on students, the man should be able to have a few drinks if he wants.

Good grief. You’re finally on the right teach and you’re over-reacting and making much ado about nothing. I have one child who is a graduate of ECU and one who is a senior this year. This is the first time since 2013, when my oldest started there, that I have seen this much energy and enthusiasm at the administrative level. Dan Gerlach is doing a great job. Moreover, from the reports I’ve seen, he has done absolutely nothing to besmirch ECU’s reputation. You’ve done enough of that yourselves. Gerlach is a huge step in the right direction. Not only should you reinstate him, immediately, he should be given the position permanently.

Dan is a phenomenal chancellor and the student body loves him. ECU is not like other schools, instead of someone who looks down at us we deserve someone who us one of us and I believe Dan is exactly that. He bleeds purple and gold and is a man of the people!

Dan is ECU’s biggest cheerleader. After all the issues our school has had with coaches, AD’s and the previous Chancellor. I think it is terrible to terminate or not hire the acting Chancellor for being too visible with the students.
