In my 3 years at this university, this is the first Chancellor I have seen to get involved and truly has ECU as his number one priority. I have met his personally and I think he is great asset to this university and not someone we should lose over something so silly

Dan is the chancellor that ECU has needed for some time! Such a wonderful, personable guy. Hoping he will stay with the university full time after the interim term. Great leader and supporter of our university!

He came up to me and my family on parents weekend IN the Boneyard and my parents were shocked to see our Chancellor putting so much effort into getting to know the community. My mom, am ECU alum, had never seen that in her years here and was happy that I attend a place where their Chancellor cares so much about the well being of his students and their families. He is doing everything right and being the Chancellor other colleges dream of having and spreading rumors and making him look like less of a man and leader he is, is disgusting.

We still have a group in power at ECU that will not rest until they have destroyed it. This is vindication over the Compher/Staton removals. They are afraid they will lose part of their power with this man as Chancellor.

So what. He went out and had a drink in the town that he lives in. I haven’t heard that he broke any laws; didn’t get arrested for DWI, didn’t get drunk, didn’t receive any complaints for harassment or do anything else that was objectionable. Find some real news but leave him alone.

I'm a proud PIRATE parent and soon to be ECU student myself, I'm 100% supportive of ECU's Interim Chancellor Dan Garlach and the approach he has taken with the students & faculty at ECU by being approachable, intermingling and there at ECU activities supporting everyone. It's a GREAT improvement on leadership skills!!
Keep him as Chancellor.
