Please help keep a FREE and OPEN Halo PC and CE Lobby! The techniques that server operators use are within the guidelines of HALO, and Bungie, are not a detriment to the HALO lobby. What the server operator does within his property is the sole responsibility of the operator. To regulate on this basis leaves the lobby open to any obstructions that are conceived, such as game types, maps, ETC. We ask that BUNGIE dissalow any of these unauthorized lobby rules. So it seems that 2 people, are making the decisions for the many.

Heres whats up for discussion:

Lately we (Btcc22 and me) got a lot of complaints from the players about servers faking the number of players with various techniques (such as memory editing the server with a Lua script or having AFK players with Multiclient, etc.). Their reason is "if everybody else is doing it then I must in order for my servers to compete".Unfortunately, following this logic more and more server admins are considering this trick to increase the popularity of their server, even tough when they asked for my opinion, I disrecommended it.To solve this, Btcc set up a policy of disallowing any form of producing misleading player counts.The policy will come into force in 2015. 06. 15. 00:00 GMT, which gives about a week from now on to inform the server operators.After this, the server owners first will be warned to remove the fake players from their servers and if they refuse to do so, their servers will be banned from the server list for a week. Attempting to evade the ban with changing the server IP or attacking the master server will extend the ban by an another week.

This is an attack on HALO, an attack on HALO Players, and an attack on FREEDOM.
