As a parent of a current Moody student who grew up in the inner city of Chicago and as a church leader who has seen first hand the benefits of the cohorts I wouldn't be deeply grieved to see Craigen let go. There was a time when our daughter felt that he was the only Professor who could understand what she was going through when she lost a dear friend to violence in our neighborhood, knowing he could identify with some of the struggles of living in the inner city.

So sad to hear that moody is consistently getting rid of excellent professors and allies to marginalized people. If he goes, I will have no further loyalty to the school

Professor Clive Craigen is one of the greatest professors that I have ever had. I think his departure would be an immense lost to MBI. His passion for the LORD, people and his students are undeniable and infectious. Please allow him to continue serving and equipping present and future students, word.

Clive has been an invaluable resource and force for the Kingdom. Words cannot express how God has used him to model incarnational ministry - Christ in real life - for so many students and others in full=time ministry as well. It would be a TRAGEDY to lose him!

As an alumni of MBI I must say Prof Craigen left an inedible mark in shaping my approach in urban ministry. To this day I have a meaningful conversations with cashiers at stores, servers in restaurants, cab drivers etc just as Craigen taught us in class and it has borne positive results. Moody Bible institute will be better off retaining Clive Craigen as their professor.

Craigen was one of the most influential and shaping and powerful (am I being redundant?!) I could go on... piece of my time at moody. This blows my mind and breaks my heart. Keeping him is for your own good. Losing him. I can’t even say how much loss.

I was blessed to learn so much from Clive both in class as well as watching him live out the gospel. I would not be able to carry out my ministry without his teaching. Even when I come back to visit he still makes time to talk with me.

Clive was instrumental in my journey toward ministry in Christ’s Church. I spent a year at Moody before deciding to pursue other educational avenues, but Clive made a huge impact on me. I can credit his ministry and teaching with contributing to my decision to get a degree in social work and to pursue diaconal ministry in an urban setting. What he provides to Moody is invaluable, largely because he puts flesh on the Word that is taught- he provides outlets for seeing the Gospel impacting our world.

I believe it would be a huge loss to MBI to not have Clive continue his position at the institute. Clive’s hard work, personal care for his students, and heart for the inner city were key components in providing opportunities that led to my family’s current ministry work in Chicago. We can honestly say that without him, we would not be serving on the west side of Chicago today. We would also like to attest to Clive’s intentional care, encouragement and mentorship of many minority students of MBI both in our time at Moody and after. We have heard testimony after testimony of how Clive’s love and support have made them feel safe, heard and understood. Students from our very neighborhood have gone to Moody and felt at home only because of Clive’s presence. His example and perseverance in the city speaks volumes to his character.

Dr. Craigen was a key faculty member for me and so many of my peers. So much so, we dedicated the yearbook my senior year (Vol. 76, 2013). I think I speak for many alumni when I say, keep Craigen, Moody. He has tirelessly advanced your mission, serving you and your students relentlessly. It's time for the tide to turn at MBI.
