Dallas Independent School District is proposing to close James B. Bonham Elementary!
An ad hoc committee of the Board of Trustees received a recommendation on Thursday, November 17, 2011 that eleven schools, including 9 elementary schools and 2 middle schools, be considered for consolidation with other campuses beginning next school year as a cost-saving measure.

The momentum generated by this petition has officially forced the Board of Trustees to acknowledge our request for a formal review. I have secured a meeting with district leadership to present our arguments against the consolidation plan. We are now preparing the documentation required to challenge the initial recommendation.

Bonham is the heart of this neighborhood. You cant just take that away from our kids.
My kids go here and it is a great school. Leave it alone DISD.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. STOP CLOSING SCHOOLS THAT ARE ACTUALLY WORKING!
Bonham has been here forever. It would be a crime to shut the doors now.
Find the money somewhere else. Closing Bonham is gonna hurt so many familys in this area.
