The administration finally caved and committed to the e-learning transition we demanded. It is a massive relief to see them stop ignoring our safety for once but we are going to stay vigilant to make sure they follow through.

We as the Batesville Community implore the Batesville High School administration to begin a process of more open transparency with their faculty and student body. We also wish to ask the school to, at the very least, consider the possibility of transitioning to an e-learning school environment for the protection and safety of all students and the Batesville community. We understand the great difficulties assigned with this process, but feel it is of utmost importance to protect students in these trying times, especially while Ripley and three surrounding counties are in a red state for Covid-19 cases. Due to the extremely high rate of quarantines within the school, students' education are also at risk. Hundreds of students are not in the classroom every day and are forced into falling behind due to the ill-planning of administration. Student health is not the only thing at risk, their education is. This petition’s sole purpose is to bring attention to these issues and allow the administration an opportunity to hear the voice of their students and address their concerns. To all signing this petition, we ask that you share your own experiences with the school during this crisis or share any issue that you wish to levy with the administration.

The Batesville High School administration can no longer ignore the growing pile of evidence that their negligence is endangering our entire community. This momentum proves that we refuse to accept their silence while our health and education are sacrificed.

I have missed the entire month of November in quarantine due to positive covid cases at school. Our health and education is more important than staying open at this point.
I think that going online is the best thing to keep people safe but on another note online school has been really hard for both teachers and students I am doing poorly in most of my classes which is not normal for me at all I usually get all A’s and it’s difficult to get the help I need in order to catch up
too many people live with their grandparents or other high risk people that are older or have health complications. there are so many people getting corona or quarantining each day that this is nowhere near a happy environment nor is it safe. going online, or granting students the option, is the safest way to protect people who are uncomfortable with being here. it is the most basic thing to do to help our community.
I was quarantined for one week while awaiting a test result. I was told I would receive an academic plan that would set deadlines for my missing work and aid in making what I missed. This plan was never shared to me and I am now struggling to catch up now that I am back with one of the biggest issues being that the teacher for my most difficult class is quarantined, making catch up work even more difficult
Having talked to many people that have been quarantined about school work I think we should shut down because in the school we are moving too fast for those who are quarantined to keep up. They come back to school stressed out and are slammed with tests their first days back. We also made the Cincinnati news because we are the only school in our area that is still open.
Lmao no only 6% of deaths have had no comorbidities. I think we are good to stay open
I'm tired of the uncertainty, I much rather be doing elearning than have it always up in the air. I want to stay in school of course but not like this.

With over 1/4 of the school gone, it’s a sign there is something wrong. Kids are falling behind but the school corporation wants to be the very best. They want to keep us in school so they “look good” when really they look arrogant because they want us in school so our numbers are appealing. Well safety is more important than numbers
