Beck's Strip is a right of way between Whitekirk and Gleghornie. It is part of some of the best riding routes in East Lothian connecting Seacliff, Tyningham, Binning Wood and John Muir Country park. Becky's Strip is an important part of the SERC Seacliff Endurance Ride. It is also greatly used by ramblers, dog walkers and mountain bikers who love to go of the beaten track. Plans are in an advanced stage to resurface Becky's Strip with a mixture of hardcore and cement over a width of 3 meters (which is the whole width). There has been no consultation with any local access groups about this 'upgrade'. Please sign this petition if you think Becky's Strip isfine as it is and if you want to keep it GREEN, enough of our world is covered by cement and the likes.

The work is exhausting and the path ahead remains difficult, yet we are nearing one hundred signatures. Please send this link to a few people today so we can reach this milestone before the developers move further ahead.

The countryside should be left green. This track has survived hundreds of years without much human maintenance and is suitable for the majority of users. The minority of users who want a hard surface have other alternatives that could be used, which will not mean destroying the countryside.

Cyxlibg , cycling , cycling....lots of funding available for cycling projects because its an eady way for small rhinking authorities to meet "green" agenda targets and obtain funds. Pfft. Walking & riding are green too. More green lanes should be conserved , maintained and created - theyre better for the environment than tarmac !

Leave Becky's Strip the way nature intended it to be. This nature walk is travelled by many because of its closeness to the old way. Of the way we once would travel from A to B by foot, horse/cart, and bike. Thomas Reilly.Athelstaneford.

Keep it natural. We dont need more concrete everywhere we walk. It would ruin the whole feel of the place.

I ride these paths all the time and they are perfect as they are. Cement is for cities not for our beautiful local trails.

MADNESS. Why fix what isnt broken? Leave the track alone and spend the money on something useful instead of destroying the countryside.
