This petition will be presented to the Shire Of Murray where we will be asking them to immediately reverse its decision and recommence watering of the verge area before it is allowed to become a sand pit or dust bowl.
I spent the morning staring at those brown patches of dirt and it really feels like the council just doesn't see the dust kicking up into the houses here. I dropped off another stack of printed notes to the local office today so now it is just a matter of waiting to see if anyone actually calls me back about the water.

To have a path alongside lovely green grass, plantation and trees is extremely attractive creating beauty to our area. The joy to walk along our paths admiring the beauty and seeing and listening to the birds I love doing. To imagine this turning to a dustbowl is extremely sad, and for reasons not good enough. Austin Cove does not deserve this unreasonable neglect to stop watering our verges!

When we bought this property the verges were watered and it's part of the value of our properties. So this needs to be kept up and made as efficient as possible. For instance, minimal watering days to minimise water use - and damage to the sprinklers should be avoided to prevent expensive and wasteful maintenance.

I believe the Shire of Murray should re- instate the water supply to the grass verges at Austin Cove and also supplement the existing planting beds with additional native shrubs to replace those that have died.

Keeping the area green is good for the environment, reduces urban heat and maintains property values.

Please reinstate the retuculation on the verges along the footpaths. It makes our estate aesthetically pleasing and not look like some backward town. Many people bought in the estate because of the street appeal. We were never consulted and an autocratic decision was imposed upon the residents

So very disappointed. We bought due to the lovely surrounds and pay good money in rates to enjoy our home. My husband even would weed and mow this nature strip as we valued the aesthetics.

I strongly support this petition and also strongly disagree with what the shire is doing. Very little.
