The County permit for Carmel Cottages (64 unit assisted care facility near mouth of the Valley), issued 2004, required a gray water system for irrigation, and landscaping. The project applicant has systematically ignored permit conditions, has not put in the grey water system, and now wants no landscaping requirement. Residents and tourists pass this large project daily, as it sits right near Hwy 1 on Carmel Valley Road. Please sign this petition demanding the County require drought resistant landscaping to shield the view of all the buildings and replace the 26" diameter tree they cut down illegally, or revoke their permit. A revocation hearing is set for Feb 9 before the Planning Commission. Deadline for petitions is Feb 1. Thank you! (Carmel Valley Association)

The Planning Commission meeting is looming and the paperwork piles are becoming overwhelming. I keep thinking about that massive tree they removed and how this landscape will stay empty unless we keep pushing back against their excuses.

Reaching this level of support feels heavy because it confirms so many of you see the same disregard for our community that I do. The work is draining but knowing I am not fighting this alone keeps me moving forward.

Unbelievable. If they cant follow the permit rules they shouldnt have the permit at all. revoke it.

That building is such an eyesore. They cut down a heritage tree and want to get away with doing nothing? Fix the landscaping now.

carmel valley road is for visitors and residents not for developers to do whatever they want. plant the trees.

Drought resistant plants would look way better than the ugly concrete view we have now. replace the tree!!
