I do not support changing the school start times for all the same reasons as mentioned in the Ridgefield Aquatic Club’s recent letter to the BoE.

Do not enact change for the sake of change. Take advantage of other districts who have made this change, we have the luxury of learning from their mistakes, don't just blindly copy.

I have a Freshman who does not want to change the start times due to after school activities and I agree

Until the district/BOE can figure out (and pay for) a schedule that allows healthy start and end times for ALL children, the BOE should refrain from making any change to the existing schedule. ALL children need healthy start times in order to optimize learning, not just teens.

This has not been properly vetted, there’s no superintendent and it adversely impacts younger students.

I do not support changing the school start times, especially since we lack leadership that is trustworthy, stable and transparent. Once leadership is established that can get the budget under control and the buy in and support from the town, perhaps this can be studied at a later date. This is NOT the time to be spending money on something the town doesn't support and hasn't proven successful in other towns.

Every town that has made an SSL change is having major trouble with implementation. If you want to change the start times then add enough buses to reduce the # of bus waves.

We need leadership in place first and a careful analysis of problems that surrounding towns have had implementing SSL. Once an actual plan in place that does not affect the youngest and most vulnerable students, present that to the town for discussion.

I think it is the stupidest thing to change school times and make things more complicated than they already are! Let’s focus on how not to cut teachers or after school activities before we do anything drastic!!

Keep start times the same. My high schoolers are very capable in getting enough sleep and my elementary kids should not be at a bus stop at 6:45 am in the dark.

Please keep start times the same. Young kids should be in school later and older should get out earlier. Not the other way around!
