My RHS student and RHS alumni disagree with the change in start time. Let's end the madness and leave times where they are now.

I just don't see how changing start times is actually going to equate to more sleep for teens.... they'll still have the same amount homework and other obligations.
And any plan which has elementary school kids getting home after 4:30 in the afternoon is unimaginable; Think of the bus drivers with busses full of way-past-tired little ones!!

I have 4 boys that have gone through the Ridgefield system. I don't believe there is any reason to change!

This proposal needs a lot more consideration.

My high school son also disagrees with this proposed change. He'll just be up later with his homework. Maybe the homework issue should be addressed first?

I believe start times should remain the same- or they will profoundly impact high school athletes and those with jobs and other commitments after school. Furthermore, no matter what time school starts, teens will almost never go to sleep on time. Period. Start later and they will go to sleep even later. That's what teens do- it's part of their MO. You could start school at ten am and they will still find a way to be sleep deprived.

Theres no point we still have the same amount of sleep cause of all of the homework

Simple solution- keep the start time as is and go to bed earlier. No more studies needed.

Don't fix what is not broken! And middle school kids are half asleep by 2pm....let alone 4pm.

I would love to see 3 tiers with all elem going at the same time
( you could even bump all times by 15 min)
I am not interested in moving the high school start time at the expense of our elementary students!!

Changing the current start times would mess with practice times, games, and make everything get pushed back even further, making the sleep schedule even worse anyways.

Totally unnecessary expense. Besides kids won't get more sleep - will just go to bed later and when they go to College they will be in the real world.
