As a former primary school educator, I have absolutely no doubt that all children need later school openings. In particular, younger elementary children need more sleep time and are not at their best in the early hours.

As a parent of a future RHS student, I value retaining the current start time. Not only is it the most cost effective solution, it also prepares the kids for what they will encounter when they leave our cozy nests. Too much will be impacted with shifting the start time, from extra curriculars, jobs and most likely will just lead to later bedtimes thus defeating the point of starting later!

2 daughters in high school with sports (rowing) out of town - in favor of keeping what works in place.
