On Tuesday, February 9th, 2016 at 3pm, the City of Oshawa is holding a hearing to consider the denial of a residential rental license for 2109 Scottscraig Drive in the Kedron Park community in Oshawa.
A group of Kedron Park neighbours are working together to present the City of Oshawa with a petition to DENY the residential rental license. We have seen the negative impact of rental housing in the Windfield Farms development as well as several rental homes already operating in the area. We want to protect our family neighbourhood and our investment.
Please consider attending the hearing to represent your concerns and show your support for denying this application.

I have been hearing from so many of you about the rental issues in Windfield Farms and it just reminds me why we have to keep pushing this forward because our neighborhood character really is at stake here. People keep asking me what the next move is behind the scenes and honestly I am just typing up notes for the hearing while trying to keep my coffee cup full.

Exterior of this house has not been maintained and the history of tenants demonstrates a total lack of care. Junk and garbage has been strewn around. All kinds of vehicles park everywhere. This is augmented by another rental house next door to it with the same issues. There is no sign of owners taking responsibility.
This is a family neighbourhood and I've seen what takes place in developments that allow rental properties. Example is city homes development to the south of durham college...properties are neglected and family values aren't respected. We pay high property taxes and I would deem it disrespectful if city council allows rentals in our neighbourhood.
Not again. Keep the student residence to where the school is. We had enough trouble on niagara drive and had to move. Smashed pumpkins. Students urinating. Screaming late at night. Unkempt homes. Our old home was turned into a grow op by students.
We are in complete agreement to deny any consideration of rental licenses for the Kedron Park subdivision. We have had issues for years with renters behind us on Scottcraig Cres. Properties are not taken care of. Dogs are left outside barking all the time. It impacts our use of our backyard during summer months.
This address is my immediate neibor... I have young children and purchased my home in this neiborhood because it is very family orientated. I cannot have noise at all hours and house parties etc going on!
Residents who purchased homes in this neighborhood presumed it would be single family dwellings, we should have a say what changes are made to current bylaws.
There are ample rental units. This is not ideal for students I strongly agree to deny the rental license.

Kedron Park subdivision won the builders award of the year for all of Canada and was designed for private home ownership with a neighborhood association, greenspace areas and wet lands. It is adjacent to the golf course and should continue to be used as it was originally designed and marketed for.
