One of the many great things about Katy ISD is our POWER program (formerly called DARE). This program educates 5th grade students in Katy ISD, teaching children how to resist drugs and alcohol, and learn skills for internet safety, bullying, and gang resistance. POWER also helps familiarize all elementary students with drug and alcohol awareness and a trust of law enforcement. The POWER Program also sponsors the Parent & Student Academies at the Junior High level, the Role Model Program at the High School level, the POWER Lock Ins, Bowling Nights and Summer Camps for the children at the elementary level.
