This year we have sadly seen a growth in drivers brake checking others at various points in the race in order to deliberately drop their nosecone. Either we need a "21st century" solution (electronic sensors on the front and rear like RGMMC are developing) or we should allow the top ten drivers to appeal nosecone penalties, especially in championship races.

The nosecones should be appealable if the person has been deliberately brake tested or driven in to.

Drop down nose cone system needs to be re analysed with a. Speak process or bumper electronic system to see if an advantage was gained as to many innocent people are having there weekend spoilt. This is close racing go karting not car racing!

I revived a 10 second penalty from a drop nose cone from no fault of my own, got tangled up in someone else's collision and the result of this ended up me losing the British open championship. This is not fair and should be changed.

Sort out the cost of club level karting.
Some common sense into the nose cone penalty rules.
Have an understanding why club level karting is diminishing .

Numbers are dropping year on year at around 8% whilst IKR and A&D is growing. Action needs to be quick and effective to keep people in the sport, everyone knows why the sport is shrinking. The sport is still fairly good at getting new people in but that is offset by the higher immigration! The over regulation, the high costs, the lack of customer service, lack of response, lack of listening by the powers that be who see their role as a job whereas we see it as our passion points to the simple understanding of why IKR is growing. The MSA is full of good and honest people but let down by a legacy structure that can only watch as the numbers dwindle. Come, sit down, take immediate action or watch whilst a bigger exodus takes place and MSA karting becomes an Ilrelevance as the teams and manufacturers will have to react with strength to protect their businesses. If the bottom of the pyramid fails then the whole of Motorsport is at risk in the UK.

Its on its knees. In reality it looks like MSA is in death throes. Not so long ago all clubs were strong, now look at Llandow, Rissington, Kimbolton, Fulbeck, Rye House, Wombwell and the list goes on. The MSA have killed the sport and IKR is growing, not difficult to see why. Only couple clubs in country doing well, just look at Shenington, pale version of the club it was but all these clubs have same people as they had years ago, the reason IKR is growing is they treat people as customers, the MSA don't even call the clubs back. Best of luck to George Robinson, but too late?

I've been karting with my lad for 3 years. Started in cadet and moved into minimax.
Would have still been karting this year but with the new Evo engine upgrade out if need to upgrade or replace all our engines and we couldn't afford it. Add to that the fact that tyres are only good for 40 laps is just another rising cost. Our club E.S.K.C made members use only 10 tyres per season to keep things affordable. Bring back clubman racing when you could offer to buy a competitors engine and he had to sell you it. Takes big engines out of the equation. Any millionaire can buy top engines and top karts but it's good driving standards that needs to be reinforced and from an early age. Too many big teams with wealthy parents spending a fortune demanding results that make bad driving the norm. Cameras at circuits should be there to to protect the lads and dad's from the drivers who can afford to challenge the officials.
Motorsport is definitely for the wealthy unfortunately. The lads and dad's racing is a dying sight sadly.

I am a dad who is supporting his 11 year old son who is only been in the sport for 9 months, at recent MSA events I have been shocked with the strict disciplinary rules and regs that are being imposed and it is putting others off, I can also say the costs of running in MSA events are far higher than non MSA and the atmosphere is also more relaxed in non MSA, other ideas for making the sport less expensive and affordable to a wider audience are also being ignored. Continue and numbers will fall, tracks will close.

A starting point would be for 2 members of the Committee (R21.1 of the ABkC constitution) to propose removing paragraph 26 of the ABkC Constitution, which means that the ABkC would no longer be bound to slavishly follow MSA rules.

This can't happen before the next AGM due in the Autumn.
Other changes are needed if the ABkC is to represent the views of the participants (drivers, parents, officials, volunteers) rather than commercial interests.
It would take time, co-ordination and - most importantly - some effort by these people. Turkeys will never vote for Xmas.

I am a marshal and have been for a number of years I have seen the numbers dwindling year by year . I think there is too many different classes and it getting 2 expensive for people wanting to enter the sport.

needs to be accessible, affordable and fun. two of these are not apparent - possibly all three. Please MSA listen to your customers before we become extinct.
