Rules are not applied. Many accident are not seen by Marshalls. I do not see licences suspended or penalised for dangerous driving.

Over the years I think he MSA have lost touch with karting. Their Officers, Stewards, Clerks and Scrutineers take the easy option to justify their existence. Many don't take action a team member or club regulars as it is likely to reflect on the club which club may loose business. They tend to get involved with trivia as it is easier than more important matters where no action is being taken. Unfortunately this attitude is coming back to bite the clubs and MSA. More regular checks on officers with qualifications would help with more attention given to complaints about Officials and Clubs. There is little wonder that drivers are leaving to race cars.

Have recently had to replace a nosecone 3 times in one meeting as it they had a small hole due to impact and/or abrasion. Reason given was that the nosecone looses its integrity and stops the drop-down brackets working correctly. Cost of 3 nosecone = £214 !!! It is these stupid regulations and resulting cost that is killing karting. (Ps I have been involved for 30 years - I used to race and all 3 of my sons race - we are going to pack in at the end of this year as it is now unaffordable)

Karting needs to change costs are getting far to expensive people in Britain as spectators no nothing about high profile and club meetings clubs are struggling surviving on scraps major reform is required define categories control all aspects of any misdemeanours cheating tyres etc all of which is out of control

My sons 7 and we spend most weekends out practicing. He's excited to start racing but listening and reading to comments from other parents the cost to compete in cadets is way beyond our means.

Previous holder. Have contacted the MSA over the exact rules of regaining and heard nothing back. Good work.
But now I have come to the conclusion that's it's just not worth it when I see how then MSA 'runs' Karting so poorly.

MSS is losing its grip on karting - it needs to stop lining the pockets of invested parties and tyre manufacturers, stop introducing more classes, and start putting pressure on regs to reduce costs, and improve stewarding at all race meetings.

On the one hand we have young drivers being DSQ'd because their dad forgot to write a seal number on their engine; on the other we have some kids with the bumpers on so tight they can spin other kids repeatedly around in front of a marshall post with no penalty ... yet only one of these is considered cheating -- yep, it's the first. Clearly something is broken here ( both incidents involved someone else's kids, btw)!
Then there's the "cost-saving" measures in the "budget" Honda class. £135 for a DEP exhaust, which were supposed to be uniform but aren't -- the engine builder we just used suggested we send him one of our (fictional) others to test as ours is poor. Add to that "long life" tyres that apparently only last 30 laps and of which there are now supposedly supply problems.
Please stop trying to fix what wasn't broken. Please focus on driving over technicalities that were clearly mistakes. Karting should be grass-roots dad & lad/lass motorsport. Please make it that way again. Thanks.

Maybe if the MSA spent time with the manufacturers making sure that the components that are required to be used of equal quality and performance to promote a level playing field at an affordable cost. Too much variance is pushing up costs and pushing out a number of potential racers due to budget constraints. Karting should be about having fun and developing driver skill not how deep your pockets are. The tenths should be in the seat!!!!

One of my personal beefs is no running of engines in the paddock on MSA race days , you can run them any Sat Sun non MSA or practice day , but if you even fire engine up on stand at Rowrah or Larkhall you are threatened with being excluded from meeting , red tape gone mad

Ex license holder, mechanic, team manager. The sport needs new ideas and new management and ideally under the MSA banner. Karting will only become fragmented under IKR. The structure is wrong and needs corrected, those in power need to hand the sport to new blood and there needs to be a total rethink on karting in the UK. Sadly I think it's too late but I support any initiative to try to turn the situation around.

Dropped nose cones are a joke, not always acted on, depends who you are. MSA stewarding a joke, rules not consistent and appeals a waste of time and money they're always going to back the original decision despite evidence to dispute it. Stewarding generally poor, sadly. Becomeing vastly disheartened with it all, too many dirty tricks usually by those who have money/sponsorship/ other financial support, damage to their karts doesnt matter, theyll get a new one next meeting.

They are without a doubt the biggest bunch of feet draggers in the UK. In 40 years they have delivered regulation after regulation, have no concept of communication and look at the phone as if it has been thrown up from the Devil's arse. But don't worry come British Grand Prix they will all be there smoozing, whilst we can carry on pissing in the wind! The wind of change is coming and it won't be piss!

But don't worry come British Grand Prix they will all be there smoozing, whilst we can carry on pissing in the wind!

As an officials no one from the MSA ever calls me back so I can understand the frustration of drivers who just want to be treated with respect and fairly. Race n Respect is complete SH*T, one goes one way, the MSA seem to have zero respect for their customers and it's only going one way.
