Many of you have written to me about why the Labrador Retriever is the ideal choice for our state. I am currently reaching out to local representatives to discuss the legislative process required to formalize this designation. Your continued interest provides the necessary foundation for these conversations.

The momentum behind this effort has grown significantly in recent weeks. It is encouraging to see so many Kansans unite in support of recognizing the Labrador Retriever as our state dog.

I have a yellow lab and they are such good dogs! She loves to hunt and fish with me let’s make labs the state dog
I own a Black Labrador and he is the best dog I have ever had. My grandma also owns one and in school, labs were our therepy dogs. Labs are the best dogs in the world and they are super loyal and loving. I believe in this petition!
I trained and handled the first Dog from the state of Kansas inducted into the Master National hall of fame. She was a black labrador retriever owned by Vicki Demott of Clearwater, Kansas. Would be hapoy to get more information for nni's you.
Although I love ALL dogs, I think the Labrador Retriever is a great choice. After all, we do have a lot of hunters in KS. :-) It's a wonderful family pet, but can be a handful if it's bored! lol
It seems like most odf the dogs I had over the past 30 years have been all or part Labs. They are very good companions
we need a state dog! we already have a state bird
My doggie would love that.

The lab is the perfect dog as our state dog. Variety of colors, its work as a sporting dog, service dog, and use in law enforcment make it a representative of our state.
