The legislature passed the bill into law this morning. I am now working with our legal advisors to ensure the mandatory sentencing guidelines are implemented correctly across all jurisdictions. We will keep monitoring the state registry rollout to confirm full compliance.

This petition is for a law that will state that any person who is found guilty of committing the act of child abuse that results in shaken baby syndrome a:Be charged with attempted homicide of a minor-infant,be sentenced a minimum of 25 years in prison if the baby survives.and b: be charged with homicide of a minor-infant,sentenced to life in prison without parole if the result is death.c:be charged with a class a felony,d: be required to register as a violent offender with local,county,or state police upon release for national registration(Similar to sex offender registration) for life. A minimum of 10 years parole upon release. Take classes on child abuse and the effects of sbs.

The increase in support has prompted a formal request for a meeting with members of the judiciary committee to discuss the specifics of Kaleb's Law. I am currently finalizing the policy proposal draft that will be presented during our initial briefing session.

My heart breaks hearing about these cases. They need to live with this for the rest of their lives on a registry just like other predators.
