We the undersigned petition the government to make a change in the law & give sex and domestic violence offenders harsher sentences. One child has been abused over a period of time and her abuser was recently given a three year jail sentence and placed on the Sex Offenders Register. Another child was raped by her step father who received a five year jail sentence. These two children have had their lives totally destroyed, not to mention their families too, while the men who committed these despicable acts can move on with their lives when they are released. The sheer number of offenders being handed out such lenient sentences up and down our country week in and week out is a disgrace and totally unacceptable. The British Justice System is in urgent need of updating if we are to protect our society from these life changing crimes. The British Government is supposed to represent the voice of the British people. We are respectfully asking that you change the law so that victims of the future will be given justice by way of more acceptable sentences for offenders.
