As a healthcare assistant these people disgust me with how they care for patients in their own home which is what a nursing home is to them a place where they are meant to be cared for safely and lovingly.
What an insult to those defenceless residents,the staff that treated them so badly looked very much at ease around each other dishing out the cruel treatment,it's obvious that they were used to watching each other behave so cruelly to helpless people,
Ivy McGinty is my cousin. This is injustice, your expecting us to except this as a suitable punishment for the crime committed. 4 months and community service is a joke. You have made the wrong discussions. My cousin and others needed you to speak up for them as they can't. Don't fail them again. Please.
What does this show the younger generation com ing up the line? That it is ok to physically and mentally torture vulnerable people in our society. I hope the Director of Public Prosecutions has no vulnerable relations and that he or she can sleep in their beds at night:(
Sentences for crimes against vulnerable people who could not report those crimes must, in fact, be more relevant, as the egregiousness is greater! Derisory sentences encourage abuse against vulnerable people.
As a hca myself I find the actions of the worker terrible and in human. Shame on them
Justice has to be done. Jail them.

Disgraceful and completely insulting to the families who trusted these monsters with their loved ones....abuse should not be swept under the rug in ireland....haven't we a track record of that already....
