I was a witness of this unthinkable handling of his case last week and to explain the prosecutions argument as a soap opera is an understatement to say the least!
I urge all people who know Iain McLaggan and therefore obviously believe in his innocence to band together here to show support for a man who even in these horrific circumstances has completely surpassed what one would expect of a man in his situation and is finding the personal strength and strength of character to go beyond himself to try to help others even where he sits.
The support for Iain has been so strong already and although we are sitting in a position where we battle to have faith in our own judicial system, a system that is supposed to keep us safe, (and yes that even means keeping our men safe and not just jumping to conclusions, even though we know the rape situation our country is so rightfully fighting. Our men too need to be fought for.) we can only hope that if we all raise our voices loud enough someone will hear. So please sign up here together as you wish and hopefully eventually justice will prevail.

I have spent my days reviewing the legal documents and reading the heartbreaking messages you have left here about Iain. Seeing all of your support reminds me how many people know the truth about his character despite the failure of this court. I refuse to let them ignore the mountain of evidence proving his innocence while he remains locked away.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms what I have known about Iain since the beginning. It is gutting to watch him sit behind bars for a crime he did not commit but your belief in his innocence gives me the strength to keep fighting this broken system.

This whole thing is a joke. 122 irregularities is insane! How can the court just ignore that much evidence?
8 years for a he said she said case with no real proof. absolute madness.
FREE IAIN. This conviction is a total disgrace to the legal system.
so tired of reading about these corrupt judges letting people rot while ignoring actual documents. appeal this now!
i know iain and he isnt capable of this. the judge didnt even look at the facts. justice for iain.
Evidence in this case should not have led to a conviction.

Why should I sign a petition to support a rapist? A rapist of a sick girl no less and by a "human being" in a position of trust that was supposed to protect the vulnerable. Rot in jail. The only injustice here is that he did not get longer. A petition should be started to get this rapist's jail term extended.
