God will those persons who did what they did to Nala. How nasty and mean. What the did she do that was so bad to allow both her former owners to abuse her like they did. Would you do your unruly child that way? Leave them to fin in no man’s land without food or water for 5 long, hot weeks.

I won't sign this type of petition. Firstly, it's very poorly written. It contains a lot of typos, and is written in all-caps. It is written purely from emotion, and was put through on a first-draft, without being proofed or improved at all. Its grammar is awful. I can't imagine anyone wanting this type of thing to represent how they feel about anything. Furthermore, it's difficult to see what this petition is trying to say, beyond merely "I'm angry that someone did this". This is essentially something I would expect to be your Facebook status, rather than a serious petition intending to be taken seriously by the professionals to whom it is (presumably) addressed.
Also, I could see a petition being sent to the Baltimore Police Department about providing certain training to improve sensitivity regarding animal cases. I could see a petition being sent to that same Department regarding the community's demand to have the entire incident investigated more thoroughly to hold accountable the other involved officers, including any colleagues who participated, encouraged, and failed to report this callous act of cruelty. I can see people writing and signing a petition to elected officials regarding the need for improved laws regarding this type of crime, and perhaps even stiffer penalties for those who commit these crimes under the guise of their badge, with the weight of authority it provides. However, issuing a petition to the District Attorney, demanding a certain type of action while accusing them essentially of intending to take no action, without any cause whatsoever, is completely inappropriate.
The system of justice in our country will hold this man accountable. This petition will have had no effect on that. It is pointless, and signing it might serve as "mental masturbation" for a few people, but that's about it.
