On March 18, 2015, Michelle Wilkins; a 26 yr old first time mother to be went to Dynel Lane's home in response to a Craigslist ad Lane had put out for baby clothes. Lane attacked Wilkins and then did the unthinkable. She cut her unborn fetus from her womb. Wilkins came to and when she tried to flee the house, Lane stabbed her in the neck with a broken piece of glass. Wilkins was put in the basement and locked inside. Lane's husband came home to discover the fetus in the bathtub. Lane told her husband she had suffered a miscarriage. Lane's husband took the baby out of the tub and rubbed her back. He reported to police that the baby took a gasp of air.
Since the baby was viable after being heinously cut from her mother's womb, this counts as murder and Lane deserves the death penalty for killing an innocent new born baby.
