On Christmas Eve Collin Jacob Smith answered a add on a local Pets page. The add was for a 6mo puppy to be re-homed for 90.00 as the family wanted to re-home her as she needed more one on one time. Collin meet with D'Lacy Jaye Schierholt the owner of the puppy and she gave the puppy to Collin at no charge...To make a long story short he said he lost his previous dog and needed a buddy! He did not have the re-homing fee..D'lacy waived the fee and told him MERRY CHRISTMAS! Little Kenai was found on Christmas dumped in the cold at a local School in the dead of Alaska's winter. He drooped her off with her kennel folded up next to her. He didn't even have the heart the put her in the Kennel with her blanket. He just drove off. After family member spoke with Collins girlfriend she said she told him to get rid of the dog. She was nice enough to give Kenai's original owner her toys..food..dishes.leash ect.
My point of the petition is Collin Jacob Smith needs to be charged with Animal Neglect and Animal Cruelty we would like this case to go before a judge.

This guy was totally wrong for just dumping this poor little dog. He could have gotten online and found another home for him or taken him back to DLacy. People need to get into trouble for stuff like this so others dont do it...Think about this poor dog....
Please take this into consideration that this was an innocent puppy & that there was an alternative to abandonment ... animal control
I own a 11 year old dog and a 13 week old puppy. I can't even fathom them being put out or left somewhere to fend for them self. They are part of my family and will be forever. He should not have taken the dog to begin with. He should serve jail time for animal cruelty.
Any one that just drops off a puppy, without any shelter in 0º weather not even put up the kennel and blanket to keep him warm should suffer the same fate!! This is Alaska it's cold outside! Puppies are totally dependant on humans for food and shelter not to mention love! Yes charge him with animal abuse!!
D'LACY is way better then that she is my family she would never harm any animal she went out of her way if making someone's Christmas better by waving the rehoming fees and give the puppy to the family for a Christmas gift pretty much the people that did this to this dog need to be put in jail and clear my cousin's name. & for the people on the internet bashing her name and threatening her should have to serve some kind of consequences for their false accusations. This was my dogs litter!!!! My dog karma had a littler of German shepherd Pitt Mix I want justice for the puppy and for my dog karma!!
