On August 17, 2021, a Canadian woman named Jaclyn Smith-Ferland went missing in the Cacique area of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, after an argument with her husband. Cacique is located between Playas del Coco and Playa Hermosa on the northern Pacific coast.
Jaclyn left behind all of her belongings, including her vehicle, cell phone, and wedding ring. It is said that she left the house on foot.
A search team was organized, and for weeks, the area was thoroughly searched. To this day, not a single trace of her has been found.
The OIJ Agent in charge of the investigation was arrested in December 2024 for corruption. The OIJ did NOT complete a thorough investigation and closed the case.
What is the agent hiding? Is the failure to investigate a result of more corruption?
We demand answers! We demand that the case be reopened and a THOROUGH investigation completed!
El 17 de agosto del 2021, después de tener una discusión con su esposo, se desapareció Jaclyn Smith-Ferland, de origen canadiense, en la zona de Cacique, ubicado entre Playas del Coco y Playa Hermosa, en Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
Todas sus pertenencias, las cuales incluyen su vehículo, celular, y anillo de matrimonio se quedaron en la casa. Se dice que Jaclyn salió de su casa a pie.
Se organizó un equipo de búsqueda, lo cual buscaba durante varias semanas cualquier información o evidencia respecto al paradero de Jaclyn. Hasta la fecha no hay ni un rastro de Jaclyn.
El agente del OIJ a cargo del caso de Jaclyn fue detenido en diciembre del 2024 por alegaciones de corrupción. El OIJ cerró el caso sin realizar una investigación completa. ¿Qué esconde el agente detenido? ¿A qué se debe la falta de investigar a la desaparición de Jaclyn cómo se merece - será por corrupción?

Es urgente revisar pruebas que se brindaron recién iniciada la investigación , se le proporcionaron a Ulises personalmente

Que no quede impune este caso. Justicia para ella y las muchas Familias que están pasando por el mismo problema.
