Too many of the citizens of Jackson County are dying under suspicous cirumstances and the cause of their deaths are being ruled drug overdoses with little or no investigation into the facts surrounding their deaths. These deaths are being dismissed way too quickly without the needed in-depth investigation into the real cause behind these tragedies, leaving many unanswered questions and families in despair. Too many parents are burying their children! Young people recently discharged from drug rehabs or from incarceration are turning up dead. This senseless negligence on the part of Jackson County law enforcement needs to be brought to an end. The citizens of Jackson County demand an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Department of Justice into the corruption and negligence of the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and they want it done immediately! We want it mandated that a comprehensive investigation be done on all suspicous deaths, including those ruled drug overdoses!
According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, there were nearly 70,000 reported cases of drug overdose deaths in the United States in 2019 alone [1]. Yet, how can we be certain that all these cases were indeed overdoses? For each untimely loss of a life, there is a responsibility to thoroughly investigate the circumstances leading to the death, ensuring both justice for the deceased and closue for the families.
We call on all legislative bodies to mandate the requested comprehensive investigations into suspicous deaths, included those labeled drug overdoses. We must ensure truth, justice, ad transparency. This is not only a law enforcement issue, but also a public health and societal integrity issue.

I have been staring at my inbox for hours reading message after message from families who have gone through the exact same nightmare and it is honestly overwhelming how many people feel like they have been ignored by local officials. It is getting harder to keep track of every story but I am documenting everything now because people need to see that this is not just one or two isolated cases where things went wrong behind the scenes.

I really never expected to see this kind of energy building up behind this but here we are and it makes me feel like maybe things actually might change for the families who have been hurting for way too long. It is just overwhelming to see people who have been through the same nightmares finally coming together to demand answers because the silence from the county has been loud enough to break hearts for years.

I lost my daughter in this county and there was a lot of unanswered questions!! We had mothers feel a pain like no other we carried that child for 9 months worry even then if that little life was going to be okay . So I feel that more can be done for us. Just think if it was your daughter or son would you want ever possibly to find the real truth ! This is all we are asking for!!
They say everything is drug related.. Jackson County is a joke. Something needs to be done.
It is insane how many people are losing their lives in Jackson County while the causes are not being taken seriously. There is a severe issue with drugs and poor mental health. It’s only being made worse rather than better. Those in positions of authority should be doing a better more to sure these communities are properly protected and taken care of.
The investigating agencies are supposed to serve all of the community members so far their not doing a good job. Everyone deserves justice no matter what they have done just because someone struggled with addition doesn't mean family members get overlooked and swept aside
Justice for Logan Walker Patrick. Jackson county Florida sheriff's office didn't investigate his death at all. Our family need closure!!!

My son was murdered in Jackson county and the sheriff's department is ruling it accidental
