NY wouldn't be NY without Joe Franklin!

Joe Franklin is a true legend and deserves to be honored and remembered.

Joe deserves to have a street named after him for all he has done for NYC and Show Business. Truly one of a kind...none like him shall pass this way again.

Giving Joe this honor is the minimum we should be doing. The truth is, Times Square should be renamed in his honor.

All I can say is that Joe changed my life by becoming my mentor in entertainment, I feel blessed to have had him in my life for 5 years. God Bless Joe

Joe Franklin's life was defined by generosity, decency, and humbleness. He loved the past and future of New York show business. Joe's Manhattan-based radio and television shows entertained and informed New Yorkers for many years, and gave initial exposure to fledgling local performers, some of whom who were to become major stars. He was also notably devoted to collecting and showcasing the work of entertainment legends of years gone by. As a former New York City broadcast announcer and executive myself, I believe that Joe Franklin epitomized the dedication to local interests for which commercial radio and television broadcasting was originally intended. Joe reveled in being a New Yorker, and achieved abiding veneration as a figure in the city’s cultural life. Therefore, I strongly support the co-naming of West 43rd Street between 8th and 10th Avenue as "Joe Franklin's Memory Lane". Jeff Berman, New York, N.Y.

Yes! This man was a national treasure and a New York City icon. Please honor him this way.

I was one of many of Joe's personal friends, and I am grateful I saw him regularly, and up until his final days. He became my mentor, and I am so happy I had the opportunity to learn from him. Naming this street after Joe is an absolute "No brainer". He WAS New York, especially in Time Square. Let's see this through till its done. - Harry Seddon
