Community Board 4 is still dragging their feet on this and acting like honoring Joe Franklin is some massive hurdle. I am tired of the bureaucratic delays while a true legend continues to be ignored by the local gatekeepers.

I was one of many of Joe's personal friends, and I am grateful I saw him regularly, and up until his final days. He became my mentor, and I am so happy I had the opportunity to learn from him. Naming this street after Joe is an absolute "No brainer". He WAS New York, especially in Time Square. Let's see this through till its done. - Harry Seddon
Joe (not Mr. Franklin to anybody who ever met him) was welcoming, unfailingly cordial and represented the best of the NYC theatrical community. His longevity, warmth and respect for anyone in the show business deserves at the very least a street-naming.
Joe was the longest-running human fixture in Times Square--from WWII until 2015. No one better represented show business, from the gloriously obscure to the elite, than Joe.
Joe was a great man and a good friend. When I first met him in 1980 he had a small office on 42nd St & Broadway, which was piled high with photos and other memorabilia, like his office at 43rd & 8th, truly Joe's Memory Lane.
I strongly urge CB4 to co-name West 43rd "Joe Franklin's Memory Lane." Joe was a true legend, a New York fixture who knew everyone in every aspect of showbiz. This would be a fitting tribute to a pioneer I was glad to call a friend.

Joe Franklin was a NYC Icon. His TV and Radio shows were a NY staple. Joe personally helped me many times and would never refuse help to any entertainer. He deserves this honor.
