I met Joe at his old office on W. 43rd street several years ago. It was such a thrill meeting him in person. I always felt his show was the greatest talk show ever.

Joe deserves the honor, whats more true is that New York deserves the honor and TV AND the talk show deserves the honor one of nyc best attractions

Joe and I met personally about twenty years ago - right on 43rd street, as he was coming out of the building where his office was located. I'm personally and professionally grateful for his generous support of the Off-Off Broadway theaters where I worked, and for his on-air plug and review of every show I invited him to see me in (and he saw quite a few).
He was a mensch - let's get his name on that street sign!
