Only just heard about this horrific news. And found the post on jdi saying it was delayed - due to this petition and others I'm sure. I wanted to add my name as a supporter and will add my voice to the fight. Especially if this continues to be an issue.

I do not agree with the unaccepting and unwelcoming nature the proposed changes. We should be helping young people not turning them away and stripping them of their memories and accomplishments.

As a PGBHQ, PHQ, and MM in the state of Missouri, I am completely appalled by the request of change from Members to Female Members. I worked my tail off as a 2 time honored queen and made several changes (or at least at the time I thought) as a GBHQ. I am DESERVING of my titles now or in the future should I decide that I identify as a man. Please...as an adult who survived adult cruelty take this opportunity to look forward and not backward by placing this stereotype on our members. I get it, the world is changing. But there has to be a better way! Ask our young women (born girl or boy) how they feel! In today's communities it is important now more than ever to support our daughters. Lets find a more positive manner in which to support our daughters.

I cannot understand how an organization that prides itself on being welcoming and a safe space for it's members can even consider this. I have have five nieces and I was hoping this was something special we could share. However, with this amendment, I don't think it's possible. I do my best to sing the praises of this organization, but I can't do that anymore that hurts more than I could express. I treasure my time with Job's and it breaks my heart that others won't get to make those memories because they don't feel welcome or safe. Lula Muhleman PHQ and MM, Bethel #247 Danville, CA As a Majority Member and member of the queer community myself, I do not appreciate this lack of understanding, acceptance, and human kindness. For many young women, Job's is a safe space to call a second home and the family they make follows them into adulthood. I am absolutely floored that an amendment like this has come to light. It is absurd to discriminate for something that should be none of the org's business, especially after a person has aged out. It is absurd to discriminate for anything at all. We should be setting good examples for our young women and inspiring them to build an inclusive, kind environment for members to grow, prosper, and learn their strength as women. The lessons they learn during their time in JDI take them into the world and they, in turn, become better members of society. If this amendment somehow miraculously passes, I will voluntarily give back ALL of my titles and cut ties with the organization. It is that serious to me. I hope everyone involved understands the weight and consequences of this proposal. An aside: I strongly feel that the Daughters, not the adults, should be in charge of changes to org laws given it is their group, not the adults'. We don't call it Job's Daughters' Parents.

This not only sets a dangerous precedent, it is flat out discrimination. My daughters and I will not belong to or support any organization that discriminates. I was a Jobie in CA and even in the late 70's and early 80's, our Bethel was inclusive and welcoming. I would hope that my daughters would be able to continue to enjoy their membership in Jobie's with the same inclusion. If not, we will find another organization they can be involved in.

This is a "Youth" organization NOT an adult one. It's the youth with adult assistance/direction ONLY when requested. It should be the youth proposing amendments and making the decisions on them. As a MM and mother of a PHQ/MM I strongly disagree with these proposals!

PHQ Bethel 73, Chehalis, Wa PM Adam Chapter 18, Winlock, Wa These organizations are supposed to foster inclusion and teach positive attributes and leadership skills. They are not a political platform for nonsense like this. Fraternal organizations are folding left right and sideways . Don’t give anyone one more reason NOT to chose to join Job’s Daughters.

Listen, it is not the 1920s anymore. The world has changed, a lot. If Jobs Daughters doesn't, it will definately go extinct. One change that would not be beneficial to the organization, IS ONE THAT LITERALLY DISCRIMINATES AGAINST PEOPLE. Once a daughter, always a daughter. If you want to continue to push a backwards agenda onto children, and inevitably shoot Jobs Daughters in the face be my guest. But you were warned.
