It is very important that our present and future generations understand, admire and enjoy the contributions of the great musicians that our land has given birth to. This is one of the best ways to promote our culture and identity. In this context, it is important that we honour our musicians, and work towards getting them recognitions at a national level. Doing so will foster cultural awareness in our future generations, and nurture our musical heritage. In the past, we have righfully honoured Dr. K.J. Yesudas by conferring Padmashri and Padmabhushan on him. However, we cannot disregard Mr. P. Jayachandran here. Although millions of his fans are already a recognition for him, we cannot forget his immense contributions in the music field to three generations of our people. His divine voice has been pleasing us for more than four decades now. This makes it our responsibility to bestow him with recognitions/awards. Kindly take steps to recommend him for \'Padmabhushan\' and consider this as a social responsibility.
