Petition for a Beat Chowky, increased police patrol & surveillance & installation of CCTV cameras in Jay Prakash Nagar, Goregaon East.
On Sunday (15th January 2017) night, while coming back from the North-West Derby screening, I was assaulted by 4 unknown persons in front of D Definity Commercial building in Goregaon East, at around 12.30 am (16th January 2017).
They rounded me up, threw me to the ground and battered and thwarted me in all possible ways. They vainly tried to snatch my wallet but managed to get my phone. I ran after them and somehow recovered my phone. Due to my resistance, one of them said, "Isko do shot laga". They were carrying some kind of weapon so I ran all the way back home.
I called up the police immediately and the cops managed to nab two of them. Although the police tried hard to convince me to keep it to a NC , I put in pressure and filed an FIR and two of the accused were immediately put behind bars, while two are still out open.
I am hereby humbly requesting all the residents of Jay Prakash Nagar to come together and apply for a 'beat chowky' in Jay Prakash Nagar. Please contact me or Mr. Parag Churi (+91 983 371 9634) if you wish to support this cause. Continuous presence of police will instantly bring down all kinds of crimes. We already have started a signature campaign for the same and documents are available for signatures.
When these goons had the audacity to attempt such a thing, with intent, on a grown male, it disgusts me to even think of a younger person in my place. We need to get rid of these anti social elements as soon as possible. I request the Goregaon Residents Association to take imminent collective action and request the police for a 'beat chowky' and added security on the streets.
Apart from the blows and contusions on my face, abdomen and arms, I am alright. Requesting everyone to be vigilant, stay safe and take care. And please get involved in the movement to make our locality safer. Cheers!

The momentum is actually wild right now and honestly I never imagined so many people would care about this corner of the neighborhood. It feels like we are finally being heard after all the frustration. I keep checking the screen because it is surreal to see this many people backing the push for more patrols.

As it's necessary to avoid crime & having security in our area after 10pm so that ladies & children won't feel insecure it's a must in Jay Prakash Nagar
There has been one murder in Shalaka Society and two house breakins in Nandadeep Society in the last few years. Both in Jaiprakash Nagar Road No.5. So we need a Police Beat Chowky inside Jaiprakash Nagar Road No. 5 PLEASE.
We as a Senior Citizens earnestly request you to take a look of this request and do needful.
As the students leave the house at 5.30/6 am . So many are returning home after office work very late. Therefore this bit is very much essential along with cctv especially.near schools
Instances like chain-snatching, robbing, eve-teasing are happening in our area since a long time now. The anti-social elements that are attacking here need to be flushed out. I fully support this campaign for making our JP the safe haven that it has always been.

I support this move. Agree that crime is on the increase in Goregaon east. Drug addicts sit and do all sorts of things even during the day in the garden next to plot no 20. My building
