Dear Yoshi san,

I am writing on behalf of undersigned SSTV enthusiasts to ask if you would approach

your committee to suggest that they would consider a rule change in the

future Jasta contests. To include in the rule # 2 NO CONTESTING ON & WITHIN

3 KHZ OF ANY CALLING FREQUENCY.

We,as SSTV operators, would hope that Jasta Contests would continue

but also that this new rule could be implemented.

We would appreciate a reply on the thoughts of your committee regarding

this suggestion.

Yours faithfully.

Patrice Momplé 3B8FA.

PS: This is a typical picture from 14,230 mhz during JASTA contest.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the attention this is receiving because I started this as a simple request to help keep our frequencies clear. The credit for this momentum belongs entirely to those of you who spoke up to support the hobby. I never thought so many people would take the time to notice this issue.

Was replying to a VK3 station's CQ SSTV and was jammed by a JASTA contester demanding numbers. 14.230 MHz is a call frequency.

For several years I have completely stopped all SSTV activity during my August holidays because the JASTA competition makes impossible any traffic on 14.230. I do not think it is acceptable that a minority forbidden any trafic to the rest of all operators during his vacation period. 73s

The behaviour of a couple stations during Jasta was appalling the worst being UT5EPP, the frequency was rendered useless to non jasta ops due to qrm from the above mentioned station. Jasta should be assigned it's own qrg for example 14.227 for contesters that wish to take part and leave 14230 for operators that do not wish to take part in Jasta..

entire august spoiled by jasta contest with some disrespectful and powerful stations, calling often in slow modes on 14.230, impossible to do a qso without jasta calls over .. if i'm not against jasta, i'm against the mayhem, please, can you maybe modify the rules, or change frequency ( the 20m band is larger enough for a contest on another subband !)

Contest running 7/7 24/24 for 1 month is a bit crazy .... make time blocs spread all over the month ... and of course NO CONTEST QSO on the SSTV calling frequencies ! ON4VT.be

I believe Jasta should continue but under new rules, 1. No Contesting on Current SSTV Calling frequencies. 2. shorten the contest time to maybe one week and 3. Contact same station only once on each band, that is a true contest. To have a month long contest all on the same frequency working the same station every day is unheard of. 73 EA3EWO

The Jasta contest is way too long, it should be short, maybe 48 hours and not run on the international calling frequency where others trying to communicate. 73 de YB1RDI

The Jasta contest is too long. More than enough only one week or some days. 73! HA7NB
