I am flattered that everyone is so fond of the place I grew up in and call home, but I hope it continues to be a charming, low-key island and not a madhouse city.

Please stop building on James Island . We don't have the roads to support the traffic we have now, much less additional traffic new building will bring. We need better planning!

Please stop building on such a small island. It's an island for a reason.

I was born and raised on James Island and in just 34 years the changes here have been a huge detriment to the Island I call home. Please stop building here- at least until the infrastructure catches up.

The people of James Island, who have been forever loyal and loving to this community, are sick and tired of the amount of multi-family residential homes being built here. Our quality of life has diminished, and it is rapidly contining to do so. The youth of James island has very few recreational activities, which forces them at younger ages to get into more trouble, whatever kind that may be. A movie theater is now closed in order to build more apartments that this area and infrastructure simply cannot accommodate. But it's not just this location, it's everywhere that they are looking to build and enough is enough. inevitably James Island will become less and less appealing because the beauty of it will soon be covered up by buildings and litter; tell me, who DOES that help in the long run? I'll wait. We ask that you stop seeing the potential of money to be made, and take a second to think about what simply is right, and what's wrong. Yet again, politics and population will have ruined another wonderful piece of this earth with extreme overcrowdedness and heavy pollution. It's an island for crying out loud. Just think about that, that's literally all that we ask y'all to do. It's not about politics anymore it's about quality of live and land preservation. If you buy the wrong sized light bulb, do you try to make it fit? I wouldn't recommend it... The development here has made going to wal-Mart a 30 minute trip on the weekends sometimes for me, and I live behind Lowe's on Folly Road!! I work Monday thru Friday 8:30-5:30 and I can barely get all the things that I need to get done on the weekends because traffic is insane. I say this because I know other hard working career individuals know exactly what I am talking about and have the same issue. It. Is. An. Island! Please make this stop already. After too long the locals will leave; and we all know that James Island is the island it is, not only because of its georgeous views but also our genuine locals. Try to unders

I grew up on James island and just about every bit of woods we used to explore and play in as kids are now housing developments. We don't have the infrastructure to support more high density housing, and there soon will be no green spaces left. Let's stop this now before it gets totally out of control!

I am a homeowner and resident in the Town of James Island and a medical student at MUSC. The traffic at the base of the connector trying to get back onto JI after a day at school/the hospital has gotten ridiculous and CANNOT HANDLE 700+ more apartments full of people on the road. This is an issue of preserving quality of life for the existing residents of the island.

Responsible, well planned growth can be a good thing. What is happening on James Island right now is the opposite type of growth. We need to stop, take a breath, and work together to grow in a sustainable manner.
