we got the news today that the school is letting us wear the gold ties for jak. i am honestly blown away by the support and so happy we finally have this way to remember him. thanks to everyone who signed to help make this happen.

'Let us wear gold for Jak Trueman.'
This petition is to bring the plain gold tie into dress code at West Calder High School for S4 pupils, to honour Jak Trueman. Members of S4 would like be able to wear a plain gold tie for the remainder of this year, and then continue to wear it as we go on through school, until S6. We would like to do this to pay tribute to Jak, to symbolise him going through school with us, and how his memory and legacy will go on. This petition is not to immediately change the dress code, but to show the support for the change to allow us to honour our school mate.We plan to collect signatures and then a group of pupils will take the proposal and the signatures to the school, either independently or through the pupil council.

I think this gesture would help his peers to cope and remember jak through the remainder of school for them and if they feel this strongly I hope it is rewarded, good luck guys! Theses only one jak trueman
I think not only will this be a fitting reminder of Jak and the charity he helped in the short time since he was diagnosed but it will also help the Children and others be inspired by the understanding of togetherness and caring for others. Please allow this to happen.
jak was an inspiration to everyone and showed so much courage, jak was a credit to the school and I think it would be an amazing gesture for the people in his year to wear the gold tie, fly high and sleep tight goalie x
As a mother I think it would be lovely for the pupils of west Calder high s4 to wear the gold tie for jak to honour his memorie and the money he raised, and as the s4 kids have said he will be with them through the school year x
This is a great idea. Jaks year group should definitely wear gold ties till the end of their time at school. We all know that this would of made Jak so very proud. I really hope that this petition goes forward & s4 get their wish.

is this not what schools try to instill in their pupils? respect and working together to become good citizens and set them on the right path for the future! I think this is a wonderful example of them trying to show their support and understanding for a fellow student and should not be ignored
