Wetherspoon has officially confirmed the site will remain open and integrated into the new town center development plans. We are now reviewing the project blueprints to ensure the promised bus access is implemented as stated.

WE the undersigned call on J. D. Wetherspoon to suspend plans for the closure of The White Lion of Mortimer.
This is in light of the exciting plans for a new Cinema and
Hotel complex in Mitcham Town Centre and the proposed introduction of a
bus-lane which will provide the pub’s very own bus-stop.

The volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with local planning representatives to discuss the future of the site. I am currently drafting a letter to J.D. Wetherspoon management to leverage this momentum before our scheduled discussion.

I support keeping the White Lion Of Mortimer pub open. It is a popular and long-established Mitcham pub, and, in view of the improvements to the town centre, it seems a short-sighted action. I ask you to rethink your decision. Thank you.
We love this pub the staff are very nice and the lady chef is superb, best fish and chips we have had in any Wetherspoon
One of the few remaining oldest pubs in Mitcham - the Buck's Head, as it was originally called, is in the 1832 electoral register. This pub caters to a wide range of customers. I've never seen it quiet - it always has a large number of customers, and it could continue to do good business with a bit of tidying up. I urge the company of JD Wetherspoon not to dispose of this.
My GG grandfather was the licenced victualler as per 1851 census when it was called the Bucks Head. A fine building and fine pub.
The White Lion is a fab meeting place with great food and company. Very much part of the Mitcham 'scene' both night and day. Mitcham would be losing its heart if The White Lion were to close.
We have all ready lost most pub in mitchamu

it will be a massive shame to lose this pub. we go here quite often on Fridays usually for the fish friday, and my elderly neighbour really looks forward to it.
