I am an owner of an almost 8 year old pitbull who isn't capable of hurting anyone even if she wanted to. Well she was out without a leash and I am now facing criminal charges due to it. I think it is completely unfair and bias of them to ticket me because of her breed. Please sign this petition to help me and my family keep our dog without being criminalized for her being a pitbull.

The feedback I have received regarding breed discrimination underscores how many responsible owners feel unfairly targeted by local regulations. I am currently reviewing legal precedents and documentation to prepare for the upcoming hearings regarding my own situation.

I work with children at an elementary school here in Colorado Springs. This particular animal would be a welcome site at our school. Many children relate to animals better than humans. We have dogs that go to our school for reading sessions with our schools children. There is also a family that brings not one but two or bulls onto school property on a daily basis. Angel is an asset to her small community in which I also live. The squirrels here actually do damage in our community whereas angel has never hurt not damaged anything here. This is clearly a discrimination case against a truely amazing, loyal, caring animal.
I cannot express enough how wonderful, and loving, and sweet that Angel is. This dog has no mean bones in her body. She is so sweet that she would not even defend herself if someone try to harm her. I have always wanted to have a dog that was so loving and Angel is a perfect example of that. It doesn't matter what breed she is, she was raised by wonderful people to be a wonderful dog. Anyone who meets her can see that.
I have been around this family member or how some may call a dog .ANGEL ! my niece has grown up with that dog since she was a newborn baby, this dog is absolutely not capable of even barking in an angry or hurtful way let alone hurt anyone this dog is part of these this family's life and it's like a sister to these children and a child to this mother and the owner I have a Rottweiler which is also categorized as being vicious and evil and she wouldn't hurt a fly she's very protective and loyal as is angel !

Grew up around pitbulls, this breed has always been our family. Never have had a problem with them being aggressive towards children, adults or even other animals. Its the owners not the breed that's a problem. By the way also have had a Dalmatian now those dogs are and can be aggressive. Do your research!
