The price of hearing aid devices are far more than what it costs to produce. Thanks to CBC News, the public has been made aware of the manufacturing costs of hearing aids and how those costs relate to what the end-consumer -- you -- pays for said device.

The truth is, there currently are no rules or guidelines that tell Audiologists what they are allowed to price hearing aid devices at, meaning they could set the prices as low, or (more commonly) as high as they wish to capitalize on as much profit as possible. There needs to be a change, there needs to be a reasonable limit as to how much a family has to pay for their child who was born without the option and essential living necessity of hearing.

We are fighting for that change. We want to pressure the ministry of hearing to enforce a rule that prohibits these clinics and audiologists from charging whatever price they see fit for these essential and relatively inexpensive hearing aid devices. With the help of your support and your signature, we promise to do our best to achieve these goals.

I agree. I remember seeing that article on CBC and the study they've done, thought it was pretty interesting. Good luck on the movement.
