I support Tennessee HB1173/SB1262 which removes authorization of graduate students in audiology at public institutions of higher education to evaluate, prescribe and dispense hearing aids; removes prohibition on employees of hearing centers at public institutions of higher education serving private-practice patients in publicly owned facilities or referring patients to their own private practices.

The current practices make it difficult for individuals with hearing loss to obtain a hearing aid. They must go to the clinic to select a hearing aid, then to a dispenser to purchase the hearing aid, and finally back to the clinic to have the hearing aid fit.

Simply stated, if HB1173/SB1262 is passed, audiology clinics & centers will be able to dispense hearing aids on-site.  This will simplify the process for the patient, reduce confusion and delays as everything will be in one location.

Please join me in supporting this Bill!!!

This Bill is will go before the House

Common sense legislation. Stop making patients run all over town.

My grandmother has so much trouble getting around and this would make things so much easier for her. Why make seniors jump through hoops just to hear better?
