As an Oak Harbor resident I fully support NAS Whidbey Island. Further, I have no concerns whatsoever toward carrier landing practices being held at either OLF Coupeville or Ault Field. Let's allow the welcomed and needed training to continue!
NAS Whidbey is and has been the cornerstone of the Pacific Naval Mission since WW2. It is essential to world wide naval force projection. The noise from the EF-18G is not as loud as the A-3D that was flying here when I came to Whidbey.
I have been associated with NAS Whidbey Island and the navy as a family member and most recently as a 20 year DOD employee since 1970. The community wants and supports the growth of this base, not only for national security but for the island economy.
I am a local businessperson and consider myself a part of the military community. NAS Whidbey is a critical part of our community and also our national defense. The mission of the Navy is more critical than ever before. We need to keep Whidbey active and strong.
Whidbey has provided a vital service for the Navy for many years, from the time they bought Ault Field from my great-grandfather. Then I married a career Navy man. Oak Harbor and the Navy need Whidbey. It's location is ideal for training, but also for defense.
I support this fly training!
As a proud daughter of a retired US Navy CPO, I wholeheartedly support the Navy and NAS Whidbey. GO NAVY!

I fully support the Navy's mission at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington. As American citizens, we cannot adopt the philosophy of "Not in my backyard." Our young men and women in the armed forces deserve the best training possible. Fly Navy!
