As an Essex resident I’m not sure whether I’m eligible to sign, but this proposal affects our town as well. In the nearly 20 years that I have lived here I have noticed a significant increase in traffic on route 133, the most direct road connecting Ipswich to route 128. This project would add even more traffic to our town. Judging from the reactions of my neighbors when told about the proposal, I believe that you would have a lot of support from Essex residents.

Believe that no more growth or 'new' expenditures by Town "UNTIL"
mechanism in place to have better communications in writing.
The CITIZENS should be better and honestly informed.

We have a son who will be eligible for a Section 8 housing voucher this year (affordable housing), but I still oppose this development for the reasons stated previously. The need for affordable housing in a community should not trump all other issues to the detriment of the entire community.

To my knowledge, the proposed project would be the largest single residential project the Town has yet seen. Given the number of proposed units, the location is hardly ideal, as its' proximity to the center of town is too far and it would create far more vehicular traffic than pedestrian traffic. It would be an artificial satellite environment with little connection to the center of town. Additionally, if the Town is having major issues with water and sewerage, the addition of approximately 400 souls would only exasperate things. How can this be beneficial to the Town? One can only view this project as something that will benefit a small group of contractors and owner, and not much for the town

The very idea of this is a ridiculous money grab. The town currently can't make a decision on schooling the children we have now and can't keep a business in downtown. Traffic through this area is a nightmare and you want to clog it up even more. Fix our current town problems first.

We need affordable housing, not a housing project from the 1950s. Those projects didn't work then and won't now. No supportive services, no small shops, no groceries, no foot traffic, no public transportation, no community. No community spaces.

40B is obsolete. It has always been a fraudulent premise designed to give developers and their lobbyists on Beacon Hill, a loophole to build anywhere in Massachusetts.
Certainly, a town like Ipswich that has chronic water shortages every summer, a small school system and limited municipal services (including town sewage) should not be forced by developers to absorb any more growth. Sometimes there is more things important than profit. Ipswich just can't absorb anymore housing of any type.
