I should be very concerned because we live in America and my daughter goes to York St Johns. Although she loves there and my husband and I feel the same it is comfort for us and re-assurance that our child is safe. My husband is English and I have been to York and all over the country in England it would be comforting that our child is safe.

This needs to be done as soon as possible, I agree with patrols too policing the area , even simple rope barriers would deflect people from the rivers edge and surely wouldn't cost the earth!
Make it safe! Security guards for the river at night or closing areas off
Railings should be put next to the river - it's only a matter of time before it happens again :(
More precautions need to be actioned!
