Sorry to hear of your loss. I signed. We also need a speed bump on Linden between Octavia and Laguna.

As a resident of Linden Street, I see close calls everyday. I also recommend speed bumps along Octavia in both directions between Fell and Hayes.

Interesting... "How do traffic engineers decide whether an intersection should have a yield sign, stop sign, or stoplight? - Quora". Below is the link. https://www.quora.com/How-do-traffic-engineers-decide-whether-an-intersection-should-have-a-yield-sign-stop-sign-or-stoplight

The SF intersection at Hayes and Octavia needs a traffic light signal for public safety.

Please consider more stop lights along Hayes with the onslaught of daily pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

I am often concerned about trying to cross Hayes at Octavia. This intersection is a tragedy waiting to happen.

Looking at the Harris videos this is a dangerous intersection as many of the cars don't attempt to stop & one car goes through right after another. Cars pull into the intersection while people are in the cross-walk still crossing. This is dangerous.

Following standard guidelines of waiting for enough deaths and severe injuries to mount up before panning any traffic light is wrongheaded. MTA needs to be pro-active for safety

This intersection has become more and more problematic over the years... from the great influx of foot traffic to drivers blowing through stop signs to private ride sharing cars blocking intersections (to drop off or to get fairs) to impatient drivers racing around those cars they perceive to be too slow--often risking the very pedestrians the car they are passing was waiting for to walk by. The traffic flow with the right turn onto Gough from Hayes contributes to this because drivers race to beat the light. Impatient drivers in Westbound traffic on Hayes often speed beyond the norm. The daily congestion at the intersection of Hayes & Laguna also contributes to what's happening at Hayes and Octavia.

I have lived on Hayes Street of 8+ years. The Hayes and Octavia intersection is SCARY to walk or drive through. It desperately needs a stop light.

This idea for a traffic signal here would enable drivers to accelerate and speed for a block on Hayes to beat a red light that is next to a park. This would be far more dangerous than the current four-way stop intersection.

I have an apartment a block away and have almost been hit several times here.

There is an urgent need for a traffic light at this busy and chaotic intersection. Pedestrians, children, and animals are always in danger crossing the intersection of Hayes and Octavia. Installing a traffic light is the sensible and civic thing to do.

No matter what happens with this petition it has at the very least started a conversation about everyone's safety at this busy intersection. Someone on NextDoor neighborhood social network had a great solution that I have never heard of called a raised sidewalk. As a resident of over 30 years and an owner of two small dogs I definitely see the need for a stop light. "Rides agree" cars ignore stop sign and also parking in front of walkway and crosswalk Ramos. They also drive erratically stopping and starting whenever it suits them with little regard or observation of pedestrian and other traffic activity .
