The undersigned residents of Custer Village are requesting that permanent measures be taken to reduce speeding in our neighborhood through the use of radar signs and/or rumble strips, particularly near the playgrounds. The main streets of Craig Drive, Kessler Road and Arrowhead Drive are of particular concern. Requests for increased military police presence have not been met adequately given the shortage of personnel and have been proven to be a short-term deterrent to speeders in the neighborhood. For the safety of our residents and their children, we request that these traffic calming measures be implemented immediately.

It's ridiculous! Especially when the kids are out playing! People act like they don't care at all.

Tired of repeatedly witnessing people speeding through Craig Drive!! Very irrated with drivers ignoring the cross walks and speed on through as I bring my daughter to and from the school bus stop. Starting to feel like frogger!!

Craig Drive is horrible! Just this morning I witnessed multiple cars speeding down Craig Dr., then an MP drove by going towards the old part of Custer Village, as soon as the MP passed many more cars came flying up the road! The MP's is only effective when the drivers can see them, once the MP is gone the drivers drive pretty fast up the road. I yell at people driving to slow down daily. My children can't even walk in our front yard or sidewalk due to the speeders. I am afraid for the children playing at the park across the street from my house. When we are walking our dog people speed right up the street even though they can see I have two young children walking on the sidewalk, and like all children they could trip and fall in the road or for some reason walk into the road. If the driver were driving 15 MPH like the signs state then the drivers would have the ability to stop. I personally see many soldiers and their spouses speed doing at least 25 to 30 MPH daily through Craig Dr in the new part of Custer Village. It erks me that people who CHOSE to live on post CHOOSE not to follow the posted speed limit. The speed limit is there to protect everyone, the children who play at the parks, pedestrians, and the driver who if going to fast is more than likely going to hit someone or something. We should not have this many people thinking it is ok to speed in a residential area! When we are standing at a corner about to cross the street people speed by in front of us not even willing to slow down or stop. The horrible thing about it too is the drivers will look at you and see you and not care that there are kids and or adults walking close to the street and or crossing the street.
