My name is Allison and I have two little girls who are in kindergarten and fourth grade at Jackson County. Unfortunately, there was a traumatic incident that occurred yesterday that left us all shaken and scared. I am starting this petition to help get metal detectors in all Jackson County Schools. Our children and staff members need to know that they are safe and don't have to worry everyday if another incident is going to occur. No parent should have to worry when they drop their child off or if they take the bus if they are going to be safe or receive a phone call or text that something happened. Children are supposed to go to school to learn, make new friends, attend events and be happy. It's supposed to be a fun and exciting time in their life. They shouldn't have to worry about how to lockdown properly in case there is a shooter. They are too young, and we need to fix this situation before it happens again. If we can raise money for books, fundraisers, classrooms etc. Then we can find the funds to protect our children and provide metal detectors throughout the schools. Please help sign this petition to get the board involved to help these children and staff members feel safe again!
