been talking to a few neighbors who have seen way too many close calls at the intersection lately. currently pulling together all these signatures into a formal request to send over to the city department of transportation soon.

i cant believe how many neighbors are getting behind this intersection change. the momentum is building so fast and it shows how much we all care about keeping our streets safe.

I am a very careful driver, especially around the school. I am always under the speed limit and very watchful for pedestrians. But despite all of my precautions, I was close to hitting someone about to enter the crosswalk. Luckily, the person was used to this intersection and knew to be doubtful the cars will see them. Why on earth is is OK to be used to cars not yielding to pedestrians? Let's make this intersection safe for everyone!
I avoid this intersection because its too stressful trying to navigate. There's so much going on with children crossing and traffic not slowing down or stopping for pedestrians. I've seen many close calls and we just can't take that chance. Just because no one has been hurt or killed yet, does not mean we shouldn't do all we can to prevent injury or death.
I am very surprised there is not a 4way stop sign here so close to the school. I use this crosswalk to pick up my son everyday and am shocked at how fast people fly through the intersection with so many pedestrians around.
My wife and I have lived on Rodney for almost 30 years and our children attended Hacienda. For all of those years I've always wondered why it wasn't a 4 way. There are some that are really late picking up their children and really bolt through it.
I drive this street everyday and I have to leave to work once I drop off my son, I look both ways for traffic but sometimes it's very hard to see coming traffic from Vistamont which doesn't have a stop. 4 way stop is desperately needed.
This is so needed! Safety of our children is paramount.
For my 6-year-old daughter. Let's make it safer around the school.

Two poles, two signs and some paint that could save the life of a child. Get your priorities straight Transportation Department; you have them right at the other 3 corners/intersections that surround the school property.
