The residents of Pittsylvania County, Virginia submit this petition to you as an expression of our full support for prayer at public gatherings. The ACLU nor any other organization should have authority over our Christian heritage. The tradition of Christian prayer is as old as our county itself and should not be taken from current or future generations. Together with one voice in complete unity we declare our full opposition against any effort to infringe upon our right to public, Christian prayers, and pledge our full support for the continuation of our rich, Christian heritage.
