Infertility TESTS are standard tests recommended for health maintenance, not optional or electives, if the insurance companies cover these same tests under other health care catagories , why not for infertility? At the very least they can consider covering the cost of some of the TESTS leading up to IVF.

Absolutely....I've paid through my nostrils just running test and I have medical insurance but they don't cover fertility treatments on any level or the initial testing which to me falls under gynecological problems
Insurance companies recognize obesity as a disease because of the impact it has on a person’s health, but struggling with infertility can have the same negative impact and effects as many people. The only difference is that you cannot look at a person and know that they struggle with infertility.
I fully endorse this having personal experience. After spending thousands of dollars on blood tests then to have insurance company say that it is not covered. This makes an already emotional and stressful situation more difficult.
My infertility is due to my severe endometriosis. ... ive spent soooo much money on medical bills and sti have another cycle of ivf to go... there are no guarantees. ... we need the financial assistance
The WHO has long classed Infertility as a disease, no different to Diabetes or Heart Disease. With that in mind, most countries will offer some degree, whether full or partial, of insurance coverage for this disease. Please T& T insurers come to the party and provide, at least, some basic support for Infertility.

Testing for infertility is very very expensive. Blood tests. Ultrasounds. HSG, and even treatment options. Doctors visits for monitoring e.g when on clomid really hits the pocket. Hope this can. Change.
