1 in 8 couples in the US are diagnosed with infertility in North America. This disease - as recognized by the World Health Organization - continues to grow, but insurance companies have not kept pace with the coverage for medical treatments that patients need. Americans can spend tens of thousands of out of pocket money for infertility treatments, many go into debt in order to reach their dream of having a family. No one chooses to have fertility issues, no one wants to have month over month of disappointment or loss. On top of the emotional, mental and physical tolls infertility takes on someone, financially it is also a burden. If we have insurance for other basic health needs, why should we have to pay for basic medical coverage to have a family?
Currently only 15 states in the US have some sort or mandate for infertility insurance coverage. Lets be a source for change and push Nebraska to be the 16th state to mandate coverage!

I keep staring at the screen because the way this has taken off is just wild and honestly it really puts into perspective how many people are hurting behind closed doors while trying to build a family. People keep messaging me with their stories and they are heartbreaking but also so hopeful because finally someone is actually looking at this mess of a system. I need a coffee and maybe a nap but I am not stopping now since we finally have the attention we need to force this conversation.

We have spent so much money on infertility treatments. I think it's despicable that we are forced to wait to expand our family to when we can afford all of the out of pocket expenses that come with treatments.
Personally affected by this and spent over 40,000 in less than 4 months. This is a must!!

I truly hope this passes. My husband and I have been trying for 5 years. We don't have the extra money to help us reach our dreams!
No one chooses to be infertile and we shouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars to have a child. Please make infertility treatments covered by insurance!
People like my husband & I are paying out of the roof for treatments!!
Please make this part of our insurance coverage. We didn't make this happen to us and it is financially burdensome for a lot of us. Stop trying to make money off of good people and focus on giving us essential coverage.

There's a reason why we call our daughter, who we tried and waited 7 years for, our million dollar baby.
We have spent so much money on infertility treatments. I think it's despicable that we are forced to wait to expand our family to when we can afford all of the out of pocket expenses that come with treatments.
