We process DCC transactions now at many of our terminals. Opt-in is 70% so customers certainly appreciate the option to perform the transaction in their home currency. Visa should also allow their customers the same convenience.

This option would allow the Acquirers to compete with the Issuers for who charges the cardholder for the conversion. Also, since the majority of the costs for providing the cash, including ATM ownership, Vault Cash, First and Second line not to mention regulations fall on the Acquirer, they could earn the revenue.

I would like to lend my support and believe it’s equally beneficial for clients to be able to benefit from dcc transactions through visa.

There are no valid business or technical reasons for Visa’s to prohibit DCC for the ATM market in the US.

VISA supports DCC at the ATM in other nations and should no longer deny the availability of this same support for provision of DCC to international VISA cardholders at ATMs in the US.
